The RG421DX features a Meranti body in Twilight Shade finish. It has a one-piece maple neck with a 24-fret jatoba fingerboard, white sharktooth position markers and black side dots. Components include a pair of white Ibanez Quantum humbucker pickups on the neck and bridge positions, F106 fixed bridge, Die-cast tuning machine heads and black hardware.
 
Quantum H-H pickups:
The Quantum pickups have a quick low-end response to picking and are able to capture fast passages with precise note definition, while delivering a full-bodied mid-to-high range.
 
Wizard III Maple neck:
Ibanez's thin, flat and fast Wizard neck is strong and sturdy and offers unlimited playability and features a two-octave 24-fret fretboard for a wide tonal range.
 
F106 bridge:
The F106 bridge enriches sustain. String height adjustment can be done easily and independently.
